Hi,

Thank you for the help.

But how can I make an array of equally spaced resisters (let's say 9x9) like a square ?

Thank you

Remove automatic tuning of traces

Hi all,

I am trying to design a high speed PCB with several differential lines.

I used "Plow" tool to manually draw the traces of these differential nets. But xPCB tunes the traces automatically which is not required. How can I disable this feature?

Thank you

Hi,

is it possible to decrypt the exported .cts file and edit it for further changes?

In Radial Array dialog select an icon you need and setup its parameters and priced. You can also refer to Help or you can call Customer Supprt.

In your Editor Control > Route tab > Tuning Patterns dialog...

Set the Interactive Urgency to Off.

At this time, there is no Rectangular Array Placement command in Xpedition VX.1

David, could you clarify how you do this?

Thanks.

With your design open, select File>Import>DXF, choose the file you want, and in the next dialog box, select the Add radio button. It defaults to New.

Hi,

Please ensure that thermal plane net name and via net name both are same.

If it is same then i think that the spoke width you have entered in the plane class and parameters tab is so high than the via pad size.

Try with buried option in the plane class and parameters tab. See the attachment.

I think this one will help you.

If it is not working please give some snaps to understand your problem better.

Do you have the High Speed Design Option (HSR) enabled? (or using pinnacle which automatically recieves an HSR license)

Setup > Licensed Modules > High Speed (HSR).

DFF errror

I have a plane that when I run verification on gives me errors on the 90 degree corners of every rectangular cutout  on it.

The error is:

"DFF Error:Sliver on Power Inner Layer 3"

I have attached a screen capture of the plane with the errors.

I suspect it has something to do with line width of the hatch but I played with the line width under the planes (selected the

planes shape and went to properties) properties and it did not seem to help.

Any ideas how to clear or fix these errors?

Thank you

VeSys Dressed Connectors

I'm trying to use a dressed connector for the connector shown above. But I cannot seem to set different routes for each section of cavities. I'm working in VeSys Harness. Is it possible to do this? There is no standard "Add On" or "Knock Off", if varies as you proceed through the connector.

Where do i find the Plane Class and Parameters Tab?

That seems odd - why would rectangles cause slivers?

Slivers

Flags copper sliver and solder mask sliver areas. This compares the top solder mask layer against the top electrical layer and the bottom solder mask layer against the bottom electrical layer as defined in the CAM documents.

  • Minimum Copper—Specifies the minimum value for copper slivers. This flags slivers with less area than this value.
  • Minimum Mask—Specifies the minimum value for solder mask slivers. This flags the slivers with a width less than this value, checking the top and bottom solder mask layers if they are visible.

You might try changing your sliver threshold under the <Setup> button for Fabrication.

I'd be surprised if it was the version, but I can't rule it out. I import enough DXF files that I bought AutoCAD LT to do the heavy lifting, and I always save the files as Release 12, which is the oldest format still supported.

Library Manager and Property Definition Editor

Hi, I'm new to xDX Designer and I'm currently following "Xpedition Evaluation Guide" to be familiar with Xpedition Entreprise.

On its 70th page, I have to access "Tools > Library Manager" and "Tools > Property Definition Editor".

But there are no such entries under "Tools" in the GUI.

How can I access "Library Manager" and "Property Definition Editor" ?

Thanks for catching this.

We will update it.

Try Tools > xDM Library Tools.

You will find the Property Definition Editor there.

Thanks , Vern Wnek

Hi,

I am using Expedition PCB 7.9.4. I thing you are using some other tool and I'm not proficient in other tools.

But I am sure that, your spoke width is high than the padstack value. So only it is flooded.

Sajiv
