I just added the HOLE attribute to the a single pin ECO part and the hole is exported to the step file.

I need to create a component that has symbol, is mounted on PCB but has no holes nor pads.

It is part of the SFP cage 6367035-1 SFP Connectors : SFP | TE Connectivity

Of course I can add some pad and than place on PCB but it is not very elegant.

I just want it to appear in BOM and to have it on silkscreen.

When I create part without assigned cell the packager complains: PDB ERROR: There is no Gate data on part number TYCO_6367035-1.

I'm old school and don't believe in using spaces to name anything.

This RE will find white spaces in Netnames in DRC-002:

^(((?!((\d+\:\d+)|{.*}|[@'\\<>*,; ])).)*)?$

In Customer Support we recommend a very limited character set across anything that can be named including project locations. This set seems to be stable over all tools and addins: a-z A-Z 0-9 _ Never a space or any other character special or not.

I agree with your coments , and my experience is same after trying above mentioned methods , against used Web Service "ReleaseDesign"

Explicit release is not desired , and Interactive option to release design is also not desired.

Can you please guide me on how to Trigger a Task from command prompt.

hey guys,

i just created a full XMC - modul on my new design.

it contains some draw objects (like placement outlines, normal draw lines and so on), it also contains some holes / mounting holes and 6 connectors.

now i want to move the whole xmc - modul on my layout, to see were it would fit.

is there a way to grab all things together? or group all things together? because i wont just move the connectors or draw lines, ill always move the full part of all together.

sadly i cant find a option to group at my layout draw objects + holes + components

okay i got it by my self...

sometimes a short toilet break helps

the circuit copy / move option is able move them all at once

When you add the attribute, do you set the value to the diameter of the hole?

Just leave the value blank. After going back into the part the value does gets automatically populated at some point. Maybe this is done at step export.

Please, is it possible connect bus to off-page connector in PADs Logic?

The ASCII file you have was exported with latest version of PADS. Ask them to re-create it and select if 'Format' your version of PADS Layout 9.5.

PADS-POWERPCB-V10.0-BASIC is the asc version of PADS VX ?

The ASCII file you have should import into PADS VX.

Could you try creating the relevant silkscreen as a mechanical cell.

This you can then place on the pcb without causing a PDB error.

Not 100% sure whether it will then appear on a BOM (maybe someone else can answer this part)

Hi Jorge. You should try using the pex ground layer statement, and add all of the well names there. Then, it will pick up the lvs name of the substrate, instead of the generic node 0. For example, you could say pex ground layer nwell awell. Then if your nwell is connected to vss_analog in one section, and a different nwell is connected to vss_digital, then ground name will be different depending on which nwell you're inside of. Try this out, and let me know if it works.

Hi Karrie - The issue as noted earlier in this thread is our use of 2 authentication systems that talk to each other to allow for single sign on with SupportNet. Especially in your case, since you are with a company that has an active support contract, changing your email will impact your ability to access SupportNet and vice versa.
