Try updating your part in the schematic; it sound like it is out of date from the changes you made in the library.
FWIW - I define a CAP_0402 part and a CAP_0603 part to avoid issues in the design (sch and pcb can get out of sync; library update may change back to the default part, etc.). If your engineer can't provide a proper size to the layout designer then he hasn't provided enough information. I know because I'm the engineer and the designer!
Lines are non-connected things that you show on the schematic, like borders, titleblocks,stack up notes, etc. You can just draw them on the schematic, but if you want to save them in a library then the get saved as lines. You access them with 'Add 2D Line from Library'.
Do you mean a template sheet that is opened when PADS Logic starts up? Here is an old note that I have that I believe is still valid.
To set the file that opens automatically when Logic is started, you need to export it <File><Export> (select all) and save it as the default file:
C:\Programs\9.1PADS\SDD_HOME\Settings\default.asc
Instructions:
<SDD_HOME>\Settings\default.asc
<SDD_HOME>\Settings\default.txt
(I don't recall why I had to save both the ASC and TXT files; it may require only one. Let me know what you figure out)
I believe the only way to add off page symbols is by editing $OSR_SYMS. You create a special symobl for $OSR_SYMS just like you create any other symbol in the SCH Decal editor.
I am sorry; I don't use Virtuoso so can't give any advice. I thought perhaps this was an LVS question, or maybe parasitic extraction. Mostly I work with rule files and just use the GUIs to look at results.

From what I see the standard settings in expedition teardrop pad-to-trace this is not what I need to do

i set the differential pair for my design.i could not change the trace widht for assigned pair.in default i keep min trace width is 4mil and max is 25mil.if i assigned differential it is automatically assigned tracewidht as 6mil i need to change the trace width as 5.6mil how to change tracewidht and even i could not keep tracewidth 4.5 mil for inner layer.i got error how to clear it

as far as I know there is no way to do this with the teardrop option.
1) What you can do is to segment the tarce and progressively use smaller trace widths.
something like the picture
2) add a tinny area fill of a triangual shape to the traces

I just installed Pads Layout Viewer, it seems many functions at Layer Definition tab were disabled.
I have some asc board layout file shows following error. what can i do?
You can't set the trace widths of a diff. pair to be less than the design rules. So somewhere in your settings you have a rule for a 6 mil trace width for those nets, and that is what needs to be fixed. I recommend creating a class for the nets in each of the different values of diff. pairs (90 ohms, 100 ohms, etc.) just to set the trace width to the right value. Then you should be able to set the width and spacing in the dialog box you show.

Have you set your Styleset to display the Additional Component?
This will be under the Connector - Decoration - Related Entities - Additional Component - Symbols - set a default.
If you have set that and it does not work, you may need to Apply Styles or Update - Border.
If those actions do not resolve the issue, then let's see if other ideas appear. After which I suggest logging an SR on SupportNet.

If you cannot change the layer definition to maximum layers in PADS Viewer, you can install the PADS Full version , open it in demonstration mode, change to maximum layer mode and import the ASCII file, but the only drawback is that the installation size is huge(>2GB).
or a simpler solution, ask the source of the ASCII file to send you the PADS PCB file.

I can't see the picture, you've inserted, but unfortunately I cant find the related entities, in the style sets. As you can see in the picture below, I don't have such option. I don't know how is that possible, maybe I have an older version of Vesys?

i simulated a layout with p2040 and 5ddr3(4+1ecc) in 1333 mbps i found that all the nets are passing and only dqs is listed in violation dqs 0,1,2,3 are getting failed
and 4,5,6,7 are passing what would be the error
i had obseved all the lines are routed with equal length with respect to the corresponding data lines
when i examined the layout
all the length matching is perfect what would be the reason for this failure?

Sorry about the picture - not sure why that did not appear correctly.
However, now that you have mentioned your tool is VeSys, the answer is sorry - the Related Entity item in Styleset is only available in the Capital toolset.
In fact, Additional Component tab is not available inside the Connector, thus I am not sure how you are adding the "Sub-Component" for the Connector.
Please let me know how the sub-component is being handled, or perhaps log an SR on SupportNet for more detailed followup.

Hello!
I'm adding the sub-component for the connector in the "Component Maintenance dialog", as part of the housing, like in the picture below. This way I get the "extra" table in the harness design, but I'm sure, it's possible somehow, to add the symbol too. In the second picture, its visible, that I have an "Additional Component table" but I don't have an additional component symbol, and I can't add Symbols.
