I'm glad you're trying out the SI and thermal capabilities! They are real advantages of the PADS Standard Plus suite and both can be used with either the netlist or integrated flow. To get familiar with them, try the evaluation guide included with your software or sign up for the cloud-based virtual lab on Pre-Layout and Post-Layout Analysis Virtual Lab - Mentor Graphics. There are also a number of HyperLynx lessons in the Mentor Learning Center that are available free of charge. You might want to check those out as well. Good luck!
