Re: VX.2 crash!

Similar happened on vx.1 to me (and some other co-workers), you can try this, but try with release switcher first ( proposal, it might help):

  • delete all contents from local WDIR (maybe back it up first)
  • run dxdesigner from windows start menu
  • create a new project and point to one of the local demo libraries
  • if new project isn't created the first time, close dxdesigner and repeat process once again
  • If works, you can put your wdir contents back in place

ales.strukelj The solution you proposed works! When I use one of the demo libraries it never crashes, when I use my company central library it crashes. So now I'm wondering what to do, because we have a large library and it probably must be converted in some way.

Open and Close the Library with the Library Manager. You will get a message that the library will be updated. Maybe this is the Problem.

I did initially but received no response, so I thought it should be posted here if others can share their thoughts.

I will as a duplicate for both.

Thanks any way.

The resolution was that Windows Server 2008 is not a supported OS and thus I have to upgrade OS.

No word was spent, why the installer generated a minidump and did not stop before the installation with a simple message: "your system is not supported"

The answer we got from Mentor support was they don't support this...although it two weeks to get that answer because the rep didn't even know that the land pattern creator does not support the central library.  They gave us a work around that incredibly slow and fragile, we have all but given up on using the land pattern creator.  Good luck.

Rob,

At the 10:26 mark you talk about using a SQLite database for Databook.  Where can I find more information on this?

I am looking for some tools to monitor Capacity-license usage to better understand additional needs.

The number of licenses concentrated in xDM can't be monitored by flex license management.

Please tell the taking technique of Log-printout of the total number of open-sessions(xDM Library Capacity user Op SW) in xDM Library Server Administration tool.

In addition also, the total number of licenses of #3308,#1228,#102116.

・・・If possible, DB Library category

Just wonder if someone found a good way to map a 3D Model to a Mech. Cell. Moust of my Mech have no Part Number. And since the mapping goes via Part number i can not add a 3D Model to a Mech. Cell.

I wasen't aware  of this until now...

Just select the mechanical part, and from the 3D menu select Models-->Import.

This will map the model to the mechanical part.

Have a look at the output from the command File-->Export-->General Interfaces-->Generic AIS.

This generates a file called vb_ais.txt in the output directory.

The main source of information is sqlite.org  (https://sqlite.org). We provide native support through Databook with an additional option in the Library Wizard launched when you create a Databook configuration. You can convert any existing MS Access database by exporting the tables or, if you do a search on the internet you should be able to find some conversion tools.

The SQLite web page provides details of the interface and API, it is a little more 'techy' than Access if doing things like adding or removing fields but there are some useful editors and add-ins on the web. I've been using SQLite2009Pro to edit a converted Access database, but you can also add entries via the Edit Parametric Data command in xDM Library Tools.

Hello,

I want to Import Cells from the Central Library by using a VBScript.

Maybe in Drawing Editor when there are missing Drawing-Cells. So that the User don't needs

to use the Library Services Tool and have to collect the correct cells.
