i am used round rectangle pads in my design, but when i take gerber output at that time round ractagle pads breaks and output are in fill modes.  means pads breaks and it is filled with small line form.

how can i taken gerber output of round rectangle pads without break in small line form. means particular pad shap form not break in in line form.

Hello,

Do following steps and see if it helps:

  1. File > CAM
  2. Select any Gerber already setup > Edit
  3. Under Photo icon select Device Setup
  4. in Photo Plotter Setup select Regenerate (this will update D-Code apertures you are using)

Decals not updating in PADS Layout

$

Hi,

We've been using PADS Layout and xDX Designer VX.1 for about 6 months now and are slowly getting the hang of it.  One thing that is very frustrating is that the decals in a design sometimes don't update to the latest library information.  Why would this happen?  Here's an example:

We have a QFN IC that has a center slug.  We have a custom mask and paste for this slug.  If I edit the decal in the decal editor, everything looks fine.  If I place the part in a new design, everything looks fine.  However, if I run an ECO in an existing design (or even manually update the part) in Layout, the changes made to the mask and paste don't come thru.  What would be preventing this?

We have thought about deleting the part and re-adding it, but that will cause the existing routes to get ripped up.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks,

Re: how to control RNOM for hybrid connector on Saber netlisting for terminals

Connector resistance default value can be overwritten for SABER netlister in two ways:

1. create a property RNOM at connector level such as RNOM = 6m as connector property will make every pin on the connector has resistance 6m

2. create a property at the connector pin as RNOM = 3m will make the pin has resistance 3m.

When RNOM being specified at both connector and pin level, the pin which has the RNOM will use PIN level RNOM value.

r.R_J399_PIN1 \

   p:J399_PIN1 \

   m:J399_PIN1_ = RNOM=6m

r.R_J399_PIN2 \

   p:J399_PIN2 \

   m:J399_PIN2_ = RNOM=6m

r.R_J399_PIN3 \

   p:J399_PIN3 \

   m:J399_PIN3_ = RNOM=6m

r.R_J399_PIN4 \

   p:J399_PIN4 \

   m:J399_PIN4_ = RNOM=6m

r.R_P997_PIN1 \

   p:P997_PIN1 \

   m:P997_PIN1_ = RNOM=3m

r.R_P997_PIN2 \

   p:P997_PIN2 \

   m:P997_PIN2_ = RNOM=3m

r.R_P997_PIN3 \

   p:P997_PIN3 \

   m:P997_PIN3_ = RNOM=1m

r.R_P997_PIN4 \

   p:P997_PIN4 \

   m:P997_PIN4_ = RNOM=3m

Re: Can Capital automate crimping tool settings based on wire terminal pairs?

Hi, Elisa

We have a new customer who has the same requirement, they would like to show the crimping parameter for each terminal and its wire pair automatically, based on the library information.

Harness supplier needs to use die to crimp terminal and its mated wire with several proper parameter setting for crimping, usually, the parameters are obtained by many time testing according to specifciation such as pull force, votage drop, etc. the parameters may be CCH- core crimp height, CCW- core crimp width, ICH- insulation cripm heigth, ICW- insulation crimp width.

I recommand to maintain such parameter in Capital library for each terminal and its fitted wires, allowing user to add customized property, and then harness XC could retrive such information for downstream application such as TVM and Workbook, for our customer, they want to show this in workbook for terminals crimping parameter setting.

Thanks Yibing,

I understand your solution.

The library will be controlled by our customer so I cannot input changes to it.

The library has no input for RNOM at the Pin level.

The library support the hybrid connector with different terminal CAVLIST.

Each CAVLIST has RNOM values in the library

     - e.g, RNOM-001=6.0m  for terminal CAVLIST-001 -- 0.64mm size terminal

     - e.g, RNOM-001=3.0m  for terminal CAVLIST-002 -- 1.50mm size terminal

I hope it is now clearer.

thanks,

Re: Job Management Wizard - call per script

can anyone please confirm (or disagree), that in the 64Bit EEVX1.X, the JobWizard does not work by using it with commandline arguments!

When I conventional call the JobWizard on the 64Bit Version, it will copy the Design correctly.

But when I try the same JobWizard.exe to call by the commandline, it doesn't work!

(I have it still succeeded only in the 32bit version! --> the commandline usage with jmw)

Pads With View Net set to a color

Not sure if this is a bug, but it seems that settings in the View/Nets menu are overriding the CAM settings?

If you set a net to a color (other than black) in the View Nets area, then want to do an assembly dwg in CAM set up

and have ALL pads set to light grey, the output of that CAM to PDF displays & prints those pads set to that other color in View Nets.

This does not seem like it should be an intended action??

Thanks

Bob

Larry,

Decals are cached in the layout once initially pulled from the library. Select part(s) and the "Tools|Update from library" to update parts.

Also select part  right click and edit ecal. Then browse to the library part and select and replace.

Hyperlynx DRC (Any Users?)

I am starting an evaluation of Hyperlynx DRC 6.2.3 with VX1.2 and was wondering if anyone is currently using this in production.

I prefer to use Analysis Control and view the results directly within the PCB environment vs. the previous detached flow like in Quiet Expert

  • What are the default rules you find most effective?
  • What rules are "overkill" and less likely to be useful (Edge Shield etc)?
  • What are your thoughts on the tool itself?
  • How much have you customized

Hi Peter,

Does the value of CAVLIST-001 contain the PIN names in the connector ? If so, current Saber Netlister is not capable to  process it. You may have to write your own plug-in to populate the connector information into pin before generating the netlist.

Do you have the write access to the design? Your customer may have to run the plug-in if you do not have write access to your design.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Re: how to control RNOM for hybrid connector on Saber netlisting for terminals

Hi Yibing,

the CAVLIST-001 contain the Pin numbers of the connector. The terminal family of CAVLIST-001 contain a resistance value RNOM-001=3m.

I have access to the design and the library will be updated from the customer estimated once a month.

To add resistance value RNOM to the pin level has priority as I understand.

You recommend to write a plug-in and run it before Saber netlisting the design.

Thanks for assistance.

Best regards,

Hi

I think you need to disable 'Color by net'.

Hi Peter,

Yes, it may easier to have a plug-in to populate the PIN level RNOM based on information of CAVLIST-xxx, before Saber netlisting. Since you have access to the design and you do not need to pass the design back to your customer, you can run the plug-in at your end for Saber Simulation.

Well, I've been on PartQuest all day, but  you caused the team to  all to log in to PartQuest.  And right now we aren't seeing it.  But we will keep checking.

Can you log into Register - My Digi-Key  or www.digikey.com from your site and log into your user account?

If that works, send us an email to partquest_feedback@mentor.com     and we can continue troubleshooting
