Is there a C:\MentorGraphics\PartQuestTools subdirectory?

If not download and install the PartQuest utilities fromPartQuest Integration

Using Windows Start button Search %appdata%

  1. Is there a PartQuestTools sub-directory?
  2. In %appdata%\PartQuestTools, does pq.ini exist?
  3. What is the value of TargetDirectory=
    • I like the value of this to be C:\PQ_unzip or
    • Desktop or Documents\PartQuest_Unzip

Now download the .pqz file for Digi-Key part number 311-1.0KARTR-ND and double click the .pqz  file.

  1. Does a sub-directory get created with files in 3 above  (C:\PQ_unzip)
  2. Is the sub-directory  PADS_Netlist or PADS_Integrated

Next from xDX Designer schematic, the menu item Tools>Import PartQuest Parts

This should create a sub-directory called PartQuest in your WDIR which is typically C:\PADS Project or fully qualified C:\PADS Projects\PartQuest.

If you are running PADS_Netlist, the parts should be in available.

  1. Open a xDX Designer schematic project
  2. Go to Setup Settings Project and add the independent library C:\PADS Projects\PartQuest
  3. Go to Setup Settings xDX Databaook and add the Databook configuration file C:\PADS Projects\PartQuest\PartQuest.dbc

If you are running PADS_Integrated

  1. Open a xDX Designer schematic project
  2. Go to Setup Settings xDX Databaook and add the Databook configuration file C:\PADS Projects\PartQuest\PartQuest.dbc
  3. Then start Library Tools from xDX Designer, and File Import the .edx file found in C:\PQ_unzip\PADS_Integrated
