It turns out the problem and solution lies in the enhanced user protection of the OS.

Installation are made under admin rights, but the elevated rights do not see the disk mapped for the user rights.

So you need to map the disk twice, once as user for normal usage and once as admin for installation purpose during install.

Hope this helps anyone who has difficulties with the new oses.
